Francesc Fontbona, author of the monograph Pau Casals, art collector and curator of the exhibition of the same name at the Tarragona Provincial Council Museum of Modern Art, offers us an insight into the Pablo Casals art collection and, in turn, into the musician’s relationship with the visual arts. The exhibition includes important works by painters and sculptors from the 19th and 20th centuries, such as Josep Amat, Ricard Canals, Ramon Casas, Rafael Benet, Joaquim Mir, Francesc Gimeno, Ramon Martí Alsina, Eliseu Meifrèn, Mariano Benlliure, Apel·les Fenosa, Agustí Querol and Joan Rebull.
Francesc Fontbona’s work has made it possible to see published, for the first time, the complete cataloguing of the Pau Casals Foundation’s artistic collection of paintings, sculpture, drawings and prints.
